All booking requests must be made through a Sumatran Surfariis representative or the contact form on this website. Bookings are confirmed when a deposit is paid, and you receive your receipt and welcome pack.
All Sumatran Surfariis boats have a minimum and a maximum number of guests. As these numbers may not always be attainable for your group, Sumatran Surfariis reserves the right to offer empty spots through our various channels. We will always attempt to fill open slots with guests of similar age, nationality, skill level, desires for waves, personality type, etc. If your group is short of the number required for an exclusive booking, the existing members have the option of paying an additional cost per person to make up for the empty spots. If your group is falling short of the numbers required for exclusivity, please contact us as soon as possible so we can attempt to fill the boat.
DEPOSIT & PAYMENTS
A non-refundable 20% deposit is required to confirm your booking. If you cancel your booking, we will endeavor to find a replacement. If we can find a replacement, we will refund your deposit less any transfer fees or other expenses. However, there is never any guarantee in advance we can find a suitable replacement, so you may lose your deposit. Please take the necessary precautions to protect yourself (see travel insurance for more information).
If a trip must be moved or canceled due to Sumatran Surfariis operational reasons, and suitable alternative cannot be reached, the deposit and final payment (if applicable) will be refunded. Operation reasons would include such things as lack of crew, unavailability of ground transportation, the boat being unseaworthy, etc. This policy does NOT cover canceled flights, deaths in the family, natural disasters, airport closures, governmental prohibitions, etc. That is why we recommend you must purchase travel insurance AS SOON YOUR TRAVEL PLANS ARE SET.
The balance of your trip must be paid 90 days before your departure date.
Within 90 days of the departure date, 100% of payments are non-refundable.
If a group has held a trip exclusively and the 90-day threshold is crossed, the group is obligated to cover the entire booking cost. In other words, if one or more guest is unable to attend the trip, the group must give a minimum of 90 days notice so we can attempt to fill the spot. Once the 90-day threshold is crossed, the remaining guests must either replace the guest(s) or cover the costs of those unable to attend.
