Budyadahri

Budyadahri was built by local Indonesians in 2001 and designed specifically for surf travel by Westerners. Thus, the Budyadahri is significantly roomier than your typical Indonesian charter boat. You will never find yourself crouching or squeezing through areas. In 2005 Sumatran Surfariis took over the running of Budyadahri, and the first thing we did was replace the entire hull with Indonesian hardwood to keep it strong and safe. The modifications have kept coming ever since, and we continue to strive to make Budyadahri one of the best values in the islands.

Since taking ownership, we expanded the sleeping area to include ten ample sized bunk beds, with an additional private room option for couples. The beds have spring mattresses, sheets, and pillows that will comfortably suit a 6’6” giant.  Each bunk has a curtain for privacy and has a personal light, fan, power, and storage area. There are three air conditioners in the sleeping quarters to keep it super dingin’, and portholes open as well for clean airflow during the day. We have opted to have the TV in the dining room to let the weary rest in peace behind closed doors. It’s also nicely soundproofed from the upstairs dinner/party deck, making a sly escape pre-dawn surf kip even more profitable.

The indoor dining room is equipped with a large Coke style drink fridge, food and drink self-service area, dining tables, lounges, TV/DVD, and stereo. We eat most meals here while watching the latest captured surf footage, slideshows, or a movie.  Budy also has multiple outdoor lounging and hang out areas, including a walk on front deck from which you can launch kites.  This deck also provides much more sun protection for your boards than the typical tarp seen on most boats.

A very well rounded and spacious boat with an exceptional crew, Budy gives you more bang for your buck than any other vessel in the islands.

What our guest are saying…

“Just wanted to say thanks for all your help with organization, etc. It was a great trip! There wasn’t much swell while I was staying at Aloita but as soon as I got on The Mahogany it was on. Quality waves and conditions every single day. Yu is a great surf guide and he also charges. The crew was extremely helpful and took great care of us. My fellow surfers were really cool, they didn’t speak much English, but we all had fun hanging out despite some language barriers. I saw a lot of boats but none seemed as nice as The Mahogany. I will refer anyone interested in a trip your way.”
