| At Sumatran Surfariis, we always strive to deliver the best possible trips at the most affordable rates. Pound for pound, we’ve consistently been the cheapest tour operators in the islands, and we've remained so even after the astronomical fuel hikes which have come steadily since 2005. Our company has always been about exploration, traveling to where the waves are the best and least crowded, not where we will use the least fuel. That's also why most of our trips are 14 nights, whereas the industry standard is 10 - 12. So, when your compare our charters to others of similar size, quality, amenities, and skill/experience of crew, and when you do so on a per night basis, you'll see that we are consistently the best value in the islands. We've recently dropped our rates $200usd for the 2009 season as fuel costs dropped, and have maintained the rates even though the fuel costs have slowly risen again. Many of the trips listed below can be adjusted or lengthened with enough advanced notice. We do trips year round, so if you want to schedule a trip that you don't see on our calendar, just ask! ;)
Terms and Conditions * A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot. The only case in which the deposits will be refunded is if the trip must be moved or canceled at no fault of the passenger and a suitable alternative cannot be reached. Full payment must be received a minium of 30 days prior to departure date, unless previously agreed otherwise by all parties. Please contact us for more information regarding payment. * Sumatran Surfariis is not responsible for airline board fees or baggage policies. Additionally, Sumatran Surfariis does not accept any responsibility for late arrival or non-arrival of surfboards/surfboard bags or any other luggage. In very rare cases, boards DO arrive late, and in those situations we can almost always arrange to have to boards/bags motored out to you. However, this is ultimately the responsibility of the guests, and any costs incurred in the transportation of your boards/bags will be paid by the guests. That is one of the many reasons we feel it is IMPERATIVE you get travel insurance through your travel agent. * While Sumatran Surfariis does everything possible to make every trip safe and enjoyable, surfing can be a dangerous sport and boats get wet and slippery. As such, Sumatran Surfariis accepts no liability for any injuries, damage to equipment, or other loss which is beyond our control during the surf charter. This is yet another reason why travel insurance is a MUST. * The Indian Ocean is one of the most consistent wave machines on the planet, but even the Mentawais and Northern Sumatra can be off their game from time to time. Our guides are EXPERTS in maximizing the best possible conditions, but there are occasionally times where Mother Nature simply won't cooperate. Therefore, there are no refunds or partial refunds given for early departures from a designated charter, poor surf, or inclement weather. In addition, there are no refunds given for reasons pertaining to unstable global, national, or local political situation that does not directly pose a threat to the safe operations of our charters.
